Big lots haul

Big Lots is a store that takes close out items and sells them for cheap! Here are a couple things I bought and am pretty proud of!

I don't know about you guys, but I am addicted to Youtube! I watch so many beauty Guru's and soooo many take the Colgate Wisps in their travel bags.

Sorry, but I don't want to spend $3 on 4 little tooth freshening things that I'll just throw away. BUT I will spend $0.80 to try them out! Especially, if they come so well recommended. Let me know if you guys like using this Wisps and if they're worth the $3 or if I should stock up at Big Lots!

I've also have seen a lot of Guru's talking about these types of face masks. This mask is made in Korea, supposedly has green tea and botanical extracts according to the package...
Youtube guru
Bubzbeauty: uses a much more expensive mask on her video.

I guess it's supposed to be something like this, found that on Amazon for a little over $1 each. Pretty good price, but not as good as 60 cents!!!

I'll update you guys on how it goes. I'm excited to try!

I'm thinking about doing more save or splurge posts from the items I find. What do you think? Is that something you'd be interested in reading about?

The Awesomeness of ROSS

Yes! Ross is amazing!

Honestly, check Ross before Marshalls, TJMaxx or any other store. They have everything!
Yes! These are genuine Nike Free Runs! Aren't they beauts for only $34.99!!! I will repeat that $34.99!!!

Yes! Ross is hit or miss and you can't go in there thinking I'll find those Nike shoes for cheap guaranteed. Sometimes you'll find exactly what you wanted and sometimes you'll find something even better or...nothing at all.

At Ross you need a list of must haves but not right now or not a specific item. For example. I needed new workout shoes but not just yet. So I knew to keep a look out for something every time I go out. Its not urgent but I have it at the back of my mind. Another example would be, I'm looking for casual work clothes. I can't go to Ross looking for an exact outfit I just need to have an idea of the style I'm going for. The ability to see the potential for something great from Ross clothes is also a must!
OK that shirt hanging there doesn't look so great it has no shape its all wrinkled and sandwiched between some really hideous clothes. But something is sparking your interest, maybe the color or pattern or button details? Try it on and imagine the perfect pants/accessories you have waiting at home! Magic! that shirt is amazing!

I like to shop and shop around so I don't mind waiting till I come across something good. Patience my friends.

So, we got lucky with these shoes! There were 2 of these and each size was perfect! One for my bf and one for me!

So just remember to keep a list of needs in your head or phone and be open to treasures you might find!

Make up brush find!

Oh how I love a good deal!
I've been looking for a good blush brush since the one I have has been shedding all over my face. Not very attractive. So, I was considering buying a Sigma brush for around $20 which isn't expensive, but if I could spend less that would be great! Although, if it's good quality I'm willing to spend the money. Anyways....

I had some Amazon credit earned from trading in my books ($75 worth! woohoo) so spending the money wasn't a big deal. Check out my blog post about earning Amazon credit here

Thank goodness I didn't buy it yet! I was browsing Ross for a wedding dress (BTW they have a great selection of dresses for usually less than $20) and I decided to browse the makeup section, which is usually a mess. But I love the mess, it's like a scavenger hunt for me and makes my finds that much more precious. In my hunt I found this little baby!

I have never heard of the brand, but the brush was so soft and felt really well made. So I figured what's $4 to just try it. I still haven't found any reviews on the product, but so far it's been holding up. It isn't shedding all over my face and the application is smooth.

Later, I found the same brush on Ebay for $10-12. So I reckon I got myself a steal!

I'll share my other finds from Ross in my next post, so look out for it friends! I'm so excited to share them with you!

Nail Polish

Essie VS. Sinful Colors
I bought this amazing nail polish by Essie as expected its a great product. Great quality and beautifully pigmented color.
On another shopping trip I bought almost the same color on complete coincidence, but by Sinful Colors and waaaayyy cheaper. The aqua green shade really speaks to me I guess. Which gave me an idea to compare the products to see if it's really worth the Essie splurge.

p.s. Say Hello to my new Hello Kitty :)
- The consistency of both polishes were quit nice, not too thick and not too watery.
- The pigment of both were great 2 coats of each provides enough coverage. Sinful Colors was actually more pigmented surprisingly.
- After wearing both for a week they chipped about the same. I found Essie to chip easier, but that might be due to me being more clumsy or active that week.

Here is a picture comparison.
PICTURE 1: After 2 coats L - Essie, R -Sinful Colors

PICTURE 2:  After 1 coat L - Essie, R -Sinful Colors

Overall impressions =
Considering
1. price
2. quality
3. color
I prefer Sinful Colors! Here are the reasons
1. price: $1 +tax (this was on sale at Walgreens)
2. quality: more pigmented and equally easy to apply as Essie
3. color: I really like the slight shimmer

You can't beat it!

Amazon Student App!

How many of you have books hanging around your home? You think "One day I'll get to reading those books" well guess what?!? You probably won't! Sorry to burst your bubble

Although, one tip I've found is if you read right before going to bed, instead of looking at FB or whatever social media, you MIGHT widdle down that pile of books.

If you'd rather clear up that pile of books, check out the Amazon Student App. It's different from the Amazon App, because you can scan your books to trade in right from your phone! It's so easy to scan your books and see how much $$ you MIGHT get back. It's like a game to me hahah!

Money in 3 easy steps

1. Scan your book(s)
2. Print package label (it's free to send your books for trade in!)
3. Send you book(s) to amazon

Watch your money grow!!

The only thing is you will receive Amazon credit, not cold hard cash. BUT hey! everything is sold on Amazon and you'll find a use for it. If not, hand it over to me! ORRR buy something a relative/friend needs to buy on Amazon anyways, using your credit and ask them to pay you instead.

What can you buy with your amazon credit:
- Items you were going to buy anyways and buy w/ your credit instead!
- Make up/brushes
- Cute rings, necklaces, earrings, etc.
- Hot heels or wedges for the summer
- Splurge and buy that purse/shirt/jewelry/electronic you've been eyeing
- Save it! it doesn't expire!
- MORE BOOKS!

Todays shopping deals

Hello All!

Did a little shopping and wanted to share. Have you ever been to Daiso? It's this Japanese dollar store that is amazing! They have really great finds for cheap, things you never knew existed and are willing to try since it's only $1.50!

So onward! I bought..
cute pink make up bag $1.50-  Daiso
Cleansing wipes with aloe $1 -  Big lots

The next 2 items were on clearance from $2 to $1!
E.l.f. nail polish remover pads $1 - Target
E.l.f. eyeliner in black $1 - Target

I love my makeup bag! I like to separate my travel toiletries so this bag is specifically for shower items.

The cleansing wipes worked well they're thinner than the Target up n up brand wipes, but I felt like they wasted less resources that way. The wipes were still sturdy and cleaned well.

E.l.f. nail polish remover pads were so convenient for traveling and it seems like I'm traveling a lot these days! They're really thin and I used one pad per hand. The packaging doesn't seem very airtight so I can see the pads drying out if you don't use them quickly. But hey! They were only a dolla. I'd probably consider rewetting them with a bottle of remover on my own.

I have yet to use the eyeliner, but have heard great things about the quality of e.l.f products so I have high hopes!

Keep saving!

Love Jess
